Billy DeFrance, CFP®

Billy DeFrance is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional with Lauterbach Financial Advisors.  He began as a portfolio advisor in May of 2004, later became the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer, and in 2016 became a partner in the group.  While Billy is the firm’s primary representative for qualified company retirement plans, his passion is working with individuals, helping to make the language of investing clearer for everyone.  He has extended that personal focus into moving the focus on financial planning away from the sale of products and towards the big picture, helping clients live life financially confident.

Billy came to El Paso in March of 2000, on assignment to Fort Bliss.  He met his wife, Gloria, the same day, and they were married a year later.  He has four sons and a vicious little poodle.  He enjoys chasing after his boys in their afterschool endeavors, and has been known to cook up a meal or two on his smoker.  After Ft. Bliss, Billy attended UTEP and completed his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting in 2004.

Billy attends St. Luke’s Catholic Church; is an active member of the century-old Rotary Club of El Paso where he serves as an Investment Committee member for their foundation; serves as a board member (former Vice-Chair) of the Better Business Bureau of El Paso Board of Directors; is president of the El Paso Estate Planning Council; serves as a parent-member of the CIT committee for Kohlberg Elementary School; is an allocations committee member for the United Way of El Paso County; and is a member of the Executive Board of the Yucca Council for the Boy Scouts of America.
